I made a tutorial for how I travel so cheap!

It’s very simple to change the default selection colour. To make this effect you only use CSS. Currently FireFox, Safari, Chrome and Opera support the effect. The browsers that don’t support it simply ignore the code.
You just need to paste this code in your CSS:
::selection {
background: #HEX selection color;
color: #HEX font color;
}
::-moz-selection {
background: #HEX selection color;
color: #HEX font color;
}::-webkit-selection {
background: #HEX selection color;
color: #HEX font color;
}And change the colors! The three codes are the same, just different syntax for different browsers.

List of tutorials that helped me with environmental painting:
“How to make your own Perspective Grid in PS” <—- this one is the best thing I’ve ever discovered. Srsly CHECK IT OOOOUUUUT!
Snuffen’s Background Tutorial P1More or less ALL tutorials by Griffsnuff is awesome, so make sure to check out the rest of them!
More or less ALL tutorials made by AquaSixio!
List of youtube channels that also helped and inspired me:
FZDSCHOOL - More or less one of the most known concept art-related resources I know on youtube. It’s great to sit and draw and just listen to the talking.
SinixDesign- This guy is also great! He has some design workshops ever now and then where the viewers can send in their stuff for critique! very encouraging and inspiring!
moatddtutorials- This guy is more into drawing than painting, and has a more cartoony style. He has interesting methods when it comes to perspective. And he also challenge himself in some of his videos (the engine block video is a great example of this)
foxOrian- Also known here on dA for his awesome perspective and composition tutorials. He has a youtube channel where he posts some videos that might be interesting as well.

interesting references
Some pretty interesting fighting poses to look at, for those interested in some references. :)
So apparently DA doesn’t have any packs of expressions in profile.
So I made some!
Hooray!

Digital Skin Painting Tips from Muddy Colors
Avoid simple gradients. You cannot obtain convincing skin if you only add black and white to a basic skin tone. It’s more complex than that.
Of course, all skins are different but you can try this :
- A little bit of olive green on the shadow.
- A little bit of blue under the eyes (lower lids).
- A little bit of red on the cheek bones.
Just work with low opacity (0 - 5%), on a separeted layer and with the soft round brush.
As someone who writes fics with action sequences and the use of guns, I thought maybe it would be helpful to pass some things on. Even though I’ve done lots of research and talked with family members (I live in WI which is a big hunting state and we have lots of guns), I still…
I stumbled upon these and love them! If you struggle with hands (like me) these are great for practice and referencing. Thought I’d share my finds with other artists~.
6 Color Scheme Tools
COLORlovers
The biggest resource community for colour palettes as well as patterns. Plus points that they spell “colour”correctly my British way.Kuler
From Adobe it pretty much works the same way as COLORlovers where you also create your own schemes or edit others accordingly.Colorotate
This site is a little more interactive and fun with the 3D elements. In addition there are few fun mixing/blending options.Color Scheme Designer
The Wheel! A great resource for creating schemes as well options for “light-er” or “dark-er” versions.Pictaculous
There are a few picture-to-colours applications but this is my favourite as, in my opinion, its most accurate. In addition to finding you colours from an image you’ve uploaded, it suggests other similar colour schemes from Colourlovers and Kuler. You can also download swatch files which I find useful.Color Palette Generator (DeGraeve.com)
If you’re lazy or don’t have the image on your computer, this site lets you use URL’s instead.
ok so I literally just made the best discovery of my artistic career
it’s basically an easy to use pose-making program with a doll. You can pose it in any pose you can imagine and view it from any angle
and this program is entirely FREE
it’s a bit of a thing to get installed and set up so I’ll write a tutorial for it later but
holy shit guys
i made that pose you see up there in like 5-6 minutes. This is fucking revolutionary. I have such a problem with poses and this is a toy that is better than any artist mannequin you can have irl. Holy shit.
it’s called daz studio 4.5 and it’s in the free section if you wanna try to install it without me explaining
Oh man! This is awesome, thank you!
THERE IS A GOD
holy shit thank you for sharing!!
